To raise disaster prevention awareness among residents of the city, prefecture, and surrounding areas, an event was organized to focus on training for a potential large-scale earthquake centered in the Suzuka-Toen Fault Zone. This event addressed key issues highlighted by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, including the readiness of the Emergency Firefighting Assistance Team, improvements in the operational techniques of each unit, and the strengthening of collaborative efforts with the Self-Defense Forces.
At Suzuka Circuit, the main venue for the event, Daiwatech exhibited the “Kutsurogi” solar power house, which includes a toilet, along with the shuttered warehouse “ECOBO.” Visitors had the chance to see how these structures could function as offices or rest areas during disasters and in everyday situations. The governor of Mie Prefecture expressed significant interest in the exhibits.
Additionally, during the firefighting training held at a site managed by Honda, two of our new portable solar-powered toilets, called the “Sazanami,” were made available for the firefighters’ use. The firefighters noted that they were able to use the toilets comfortably, unlike in normal situations when they have no access to proper facilities.
